Delta Force Task Force Dagger Torrent is a shooter game developed and published by NovaLogic. In Task Force Dagger, you go to Afghanistan to battle in missions influenced by Operation Enduring Freedom. Some may think NovaLogic is just trying to make money from real-world tragedies. NovaLogic says the game honors the heroes of the conflict, but Task Team Dagger just treats the subject with cold, dullness. It’s not very exciting.
In Task Force Dagger, you go to places like Kandahar, where you destroy SAM sites. In Mazar-e Sharif, you try to capture an enemy commander. In Bagh-e Daud, you try to save a journalist. Despite this seeming variety, many missions are the same: Go to a compound, shoot some guys standing around, move in, shoot some more guys standing around, and grab some documents or blow something up. Doing most of this without any AI buddies is boring and unrealistic. Multiplayer is okay for a short time but it’s just like other games: capture the Flag, King of the Hill, deathmatch, etc.
Delta Force: Land Warrior is mostly remembered for its terrible enemy AI. The enemies are so bad it feels like shooting targets at a carnival. Task Force Dagger doesn’t make much improvement. If the enemy beats you, it’s because they have more people, not because they’re smart. They yell for no reason, drawing attention to themselves, or stand still when you shoot their friend.
There are lots of weapons in Task Force Dagger, which might excite gun fans at first. You get a bunch of guns like the OICW combo rifle/grenade launcher, sniper rifles, assault rifles, submachine guns, pistols, and even air strikes in some missions. You also get live video footage from drones. But having so many weapons makes it hard to tell them apart. It would be better to have fewer guns with more differences. Also, throwing grenades and switching weapons is too easy, not like real life. The explosions from air strikes are as weak as grenades, which is ridiculous.
Delta Force Task Force Dagger Torrent has the same graphics as Delta Force: Land Warrior, which means it looks old and not great. It can make big outdoor areas but textures are boring, buildings are empty, explosions look silly, and the ground shimmers too much. The game has a few fun things like aerial reconnaissance, but overall it’s disappointing.
